As a rule, the disease was diagnosed through a short period of time after the introduction of new herd of sheep or goats or a change in staff. Furthermore disease of sheep and goats with the specified clinical signs was recorded in a number of wild ruminants. Infection is usually recorded in spring and autumn. Cases of contagious ecthyma of newly imported young goats were registered in private farms. Keywords: sheep, goats, contagious pustular dermatitis (contagious ecthyma), Parapox virus, nodules, vesicles, pustules, zoonosis, foot-and-mouth disease, pox of sheep and goat, necrobacteriosis.
