Mishchenko V.A., Mishchenko A.V., Dumova V.V., Shevchenko A.A., Chernykh O.Yu. Summary. Published data on registration of bovine infection caused by herpesvirus type 4 is analyzed in the article. Since 1963, when pathogen was isolated at the first time from cattle with clinical respiratory disease, conjunctivitis and keratitis in Hungary, herpesviruses are isolated from animals with lesions of the digestive, respiratory and reproductive organs. Herpesvirus type 4 was isolated from dairy cows with skin lesions on the distal parts of limbs. Also, virus infects rabbits, hitting mononuclear cells and lymphoid organs. Infection of animals in many countries, including Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Japan, Israel, U.S., India, Kenya, Russia, Egypt, Switzerland is proved. Keywords: herpesvirus, large-horned cattle, strain, pathological material, clinical signs, outbreak, immune response, vaccine. References: - Samuylenko A.Ya.
