Summary. The article for the first time considers the issue of the contagious ability of arthropods infested with dirofilariasis, their pathogenic potential for the final host - small domestic animals, according to the seasonality of the parasitic disease. Taxonomic identification of infected mosquitoes was carried out. The main parasitological indicators of invasion intensity and invasion extensiveness were determined. Characterizing the prevalence of the pathogen in the Rostov region in different months of the year. The average number of L3 larvae found was calculated, and the degree of invasion of insects by the nematode was determined. When carrying out research, bait methods for collecting synanthropic arthropods, the method of opening and diagnosing the larval stages of dirofilariasis in their body are used. According to the data obtained, it was determined that the taxonomic diversity of arthropods infected with dirofilariasis in the Rostov region is the detection of the causative agent of the disease in mosquitoes of the genus Aedes, Culex and Anopheles. Detection of these organisms is possible in the spring, summer and autumn periods of the year. The high value of parasitological indicators was determined during the summer season. In this case, the value of insects infected with dirofilariasis was 5.73±1.5% in terms of extensiveness, 3.35±0.09 in intensity of larvae found during autopsy and counting. In the process of autopsy of mosquitoes of the genus Aedes, Culex and Anopheles, the numerical values of the detected dirofilaria larvae in each genus differed from each other. At the same time, the number of diagnosed microfilariae in each insect was different. But the predominant number was recorded in mosquitoes of the genus Culex and Anophele, the percentage of highly infested insects in the study group was 47.92%; 50.0 of the total number of infected arthropods. Evaluation of the pathogenic potential of organisms infested with dirofilariasis in each taxonomic unit showed that the highest average value of invasive larvae (L3) was found during the preparation of insects of the genus Anopheles, which averaged 9.75 ± 1.82 larvae diagnosed in one field of view of the prepared preparation. This indicates a high contagious ability of these insects in relation to the final host.

Keywords: mosquitoes, insects, arthropods, intensity of the disease, extensiveness of the disease, pathogenic potential, degree of infestation.
