Summary. Despite the constant improvement of methods of treatment and prevention, gastrointestinal diseases constantly cause enormous damage to farms and complexes. Young animals suffer most from such diseases. The instability of immunity, the lack of colostrum, poor sanitary conditions, especially with a no-win system of detention, all this affects the spread of infection. The article presents the results of research on colibacteriosis of farm animals. The serovariants of the obtained Escherichia cultures were determined using the serum concentration by agglutination reaction. The data on the sensitivity of Escherichia coli strains to antimicrobial drugs of different groups are presented. As a result of the research, the authors found that the leading role in the occurrence of infectious gastroenteritis still belongs to Esche richia coli. Uncontrolled and asymptomatic use of antibacterial drugs leads to the emergence of highly drug-resistant microorganisms. Only 5 of the 16 antibacterial drugs tested by the authors, showed high results: cefoperazone, cefepime, ceftriaxone, norfloxacin and enrofloxacin.

Keywords: large horned cattle, small horned cattle, pigs, colibacillosis, Escherichia coli, serovariant, strain, O-coli serum, agglutination reaction, antibiotic resistance.
