Summary. It is known that a determining role in the etiology of mastitis belongs to pathogenic and opportunistic microflora, which often include streptococci, staphylococci and much less often various enterobacteria. Pathogenic microorganisms are isolated more often in the form of associations, less often as monocultures out of milk samples from cows with signs of mammary gland lesions. Rational and effective approach to treatment of cows at mastitis primarily involves bacteriological studies including determination of the species composition of microflora and its sensitivity to antimastitis and individual antibacterial therapy. This work presents studies of 98 milk samples on the species composition of the microflora and its sensitivity to various drugs. Each sample was isolated on different types of media. Bacteriological examination of milk from cows with subclinical and clinical mastitis revealed 28 samples (27,4%) with staphylococci and streptococci; in 10 samples (10,2%) they were absent. Forty-four strains of microorganisms were isolated from the affected breast lobes, among which: 28 samples (13.7%) were classified as staphylococci; 16 samples (7.4%) as streptococci. In 53.1% of cases, streptococci and staphylococci were isolated simultaneously in mixed culture from the affected udder lobes. Staphylococci were isolated as monocultures from 12 milk samples (5.8%). Authors studied the dynamics of microbial contamination in milk before and after treatment of animals with AOKVET. The level of total microbial contamination of udder secretion decreased by 67% as a result of a single intracisternal AOKVET injection; after the third injection, the level of contamination in milk was minimal, which indicated the recovery of animals.
