Bovine leukemia refers to slow infections with a long preclinical period, with impossible self-recovery and inevitable death of the animal. An anthropogenic factor contributes to the growth of infection, but without human intervention, the elimination of leukemia is also impossible. Bovine leukemia virus affects B-cells, causing them to proliferate, and in some cases, malignant transformation. Taking into account the type and stage of the disease, the effect on immunological parameters is different. In order to assess the infection with the leukemia virus of calves obtained from cows-mothers, seropositive in RID and ELISA, during complex diagnostics, the blood of calves was examined in RID, ELISA and PCR before drinking colostrum, at 1 and 3 months. Comparative analysis of data in the mother-offspring system showed that the number of positive calves in RID and ELISA was 6.2% before drinking colostrum, at the age of 1 month - 71.8% and 3 months - 78.1%; in PCR - 15.6, 18.7 and 21.9%, respectively. The authors studied the effect of infection with the bovine leukemia virus on the main indicators of the resistance of the body of calves with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Bacterial cultures of microorganisms isolated from newborn calves were resistant to 60-70% of the tested antibiotics. In newborn calves obtained from mothers infected with the leukemia virus of cattle, a more severe course of the pathological process of an inflammatory nature was established, with suppression of the immune system, negative changes in the picture of red and white blood, and mineral metabolism. Keywords: large horned cattle, newborn calves, bovine leukemia virus, immunity, infection, organism resistance, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, bacterial cultures, microorganisms, antibiotic.
