Summary. Data on dynamics and territorial location of the bovine leukemia virus in Krasnodar region are presented in the article. The source of information on the spread of leukemia in the large horned cattle was the veterinary reporting data of the Veterinary Department of Krasnodar region, Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Krasnodar Interregional Veterinary Laboratory, Kropotkin Regional Veterinary Laboratory and regional veterinary laboratories. The obtained data reflect the complex epizootic situation regarding leukemia in the large horned cattle. 17 municipalities of the region contained infected with the bovine leukemia virus livestock in 2022, that is less than in 2016. The order ‘On the approval of Veterinary rules for the implementation of preventive, diagnostic, restrictive and other measures, the establishment and lifting of quarantine and other restrictions aimed at preventing the spread and eliminating foci of leukemia in cattle’ which came into force in 2021 has improved the well-being of retroviral infections. Work to improve the health of the large horned cattle from leukemia continues successfully at the present time. The dynamics of changes in the number of infected large horned cattle has a clear downward trend in Krasnodar region. Activities carried out in Krasnodar region and aimed at improving the health of cattle from leukemia are systematically leading to the final recovery of the region.

Keywords: epizootic situation, large horned cattle, bovine leukemia virus, prevalence of leukemia virus, retroviral infection, infection, livestock health improvement.
