Summary. Industrial poultry and peasant farms, which contain many different breeds of chickens, have been intensively developed in Krasnodar region in the last decade. Endoparasites and ectoparasites negatively affect the number of livestock. In addition to many bacterial and viral diseases, gastrointestinal helminths are one of the main threats to poultry. Severe helminth infestation leads to large economic losses: growth retardation, decreased egg production, diarrhea, bowel obstruction, decreased hemoglobin and high bird mortality. Ectoparasites also play an important role in the transmission of cestode infestations in poultry. Given the importance of parasitism of gastrointestinal helminths in chickens, which cause serious veterinary problems today, this study was conducted in Krasnodar region in peasant farms where the types of helminths existing in the region were identified. Studies were carried out by authors from April to November 2017 on 8 breeds of chickens of all ages found in peasant farms in the city of Krasnodar. Selected bird groups were used as a study population for the presence of gastrointestinal helminths. Total of 114 chickens were studied in various farms of the region. The study showed that chickens in peasant farms in the study area were infected with gastrointestinal helminths with a total invasion rate of 55.3%. Detected gastrointestinal helminths belonged to the class Nematoda and Cestoda with an invasion rate of 36% and 8.8%, respectively, and the mixed invasion rate was 10.5%. Study showed that in farms in the city of Krasnodar, chickens are at high risk of contracting gastrointestinal helminths.
