Use of functional feed additives from vegetable raw materials in poultry industry

USE OF FUNCTIONAL FEED ADDITIVES FROM VEGETABLE RAW MATERIALS IN POULTRY

Summary. Ecologization of agriculture dictates the requirement maximal decrease in volumes of the use of synthetic additives in the production of poultry products. To solve this problem can only be subject to availability of natural sources of vitamins produced using energy-saving technologies from natural plant materials. Such raw materials are fruits pumpkin and lucerne vegetative mass-crops traditionally grown in the region and occupy a considerable area. In the Krasnodar region. Biological value of pumpkin paste of fruit of vitamins varieties and curd from lucerne juice – carotenoid supplements from natural plant materials - as an alternative to synthetic vitamin and pigment preparations were studied by authors.

Current requirements for environmental safety of products require a search for alternatives such additives. Developed and patented technology for production of pumpkin paste allows to use for this purpose matured pumpkin fruits of vitamin varieties. In the preparation of pasta fruits are crushed, put layer by layer together with preservatives in specially equipped repository, while juice is removed. The result is a high quality pumpkin pasta without traces of butyric acid and humidity of 87%, containing on a dry matter (%), crude protein – 15,58, crude fiber – 27,68, crude fat – 1,92, ash – 9,28 and carotene – 2450 mg/kg.

Evaluation possibility of using of pumpkin paste in the mixed fodders for laying hens was studied at the poultry farm "Novomyshastovskaya" Krasnoarmeysky district of Krasnodar region. Poultry of the control group received feed produced at farm feed mill, the experimental group was fed additionally with pumpkin pasta from Vitamin pumpkin fruits.

Addition of pumpkin pasta increased safety and productivity of poultry and reduced the average consumability fodder per head per day. Results of the control poultry slaughter also consistent with an overall tendency of changes of economic indices, improving the quality of meat carcasses in the experimental group. Economic calculation showed that the use of pumpkin paste reduces the production cost of eggs.

Very promising source of plant carotenoids is lucerne. We have developed, implemented and patented technology of enzymatic precipitation of protein-vitamin juice components using benzoic acid and starter cultures on the basis of lactic acid bacteria.
