Assessment of the epizootic situation on quarantine infectious animal diseases in North-Caucasus federal district for the period from 2020 to 2024

Abstract. During the past 5 years 17 bacterial, viral and parasitic animal diseases were officially registered in North-Caucasus Federal District, originating in 1590 disadvantaged areas. 18 976 animals totally get diseased, of which 244 died. The largest number of settlements was registered in the Republic of Dagestan - 512 (32,2%). Republic of North Ossetia-Alania retains the second place by these indices -288 (18,1%). Next, Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria ranks third - 241 (15,2%). There are 221 (13,9%) unfavorable points on quarantine infectious diseases in Stavropol region. 158 (9,9%) localities were identified in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, 146 (9,2%) and 24 (1,5%) in the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Ingushetia, respectively. Brucellosis occupies the first place in terms of incidence (89,6%), followed by bovine leucose (5,7%), leptospirosis (1,2%), infectious rhinotracheitis (0,7%), enterotoxemia of sheep, pasteurellosis and parainfluenza-3 (0,4% each) in the nosological structure of infectious pathology of domestic animals. Chlamydia, sheep bradycardia and infectious epididymitis occupy in the structure of infectious diseases (0,3% each), swine parvovirus infection (0,25%), equine colds (0,2%). In addition to the infections listed above, sporadic cases of salmonellosis, emphysematous carbuncle, listeriosis, necrobacteriosis and viral diarrhea have been reported in animals, which are diseases of the mucous membranes, that are of lesser epizootological importance.
