Distribution of Dirofilaria repens Railliet & Henry, 1911 on the territory of the asian part of Russia

Summary. This article describes the prevalence of Dirofilaria repens on the territory of the Ural, Siberian, and Far Eastern federal districts. A total of 851 blood samples from dogs from different cities of the Asian part of the Russian Federation were analyzed by species-specific Dirofilaria repens PCR. DNA of subcutaneous dirofilariae was detected in Primorsky, Khabarovsk, Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories, in Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions. For the first time cases of registration of D. repens in dogs in Chelyabinsk region (EI% = 4.07, n=123) in the cities of Troitsk and Chelyabinsk, Kurgan region, in the city of Kurgan (EI% = 21.43, n=14), Sverdlovsk region - in the cities of Ekaterinburg and Kamyshlov (EI% = 8.74, n = 103), Novosibirsk region - the city of Novosibirsk (EI% = 8.33, n=60), Krasnoyarsk region -the city of Krasnoyarsk (EI% = 2.94, n = 34), Kemerovo region - the city of Novokuznetsk (EI% = 4.35, n = 23), Primorsky region - the cities of Artem, Vladivostok, Ussuriysk (EI% = 1.55, n = 194).
