Summary. The development of new methods of treatment arterial hypertension is the most important task of modern medicine and biology. The purpose of the work: To investigate the effectiveness of the use of a peptide bioregulator of vessels (PBV) for the correction of changes in the orientation-research behavior occurring during the development of arterial hypertension (AH). Materials and methods: The experiments were carried out on spontaneously hypertensive rats-males of the SHR line at the of 4-12 months. SHR rats were evaluated in the «Open field» test. Results: It is shown that AH leads to the extinction of motor function and research motivation. The number of acts «locomotion», «sniffing», «hole», «vertical stand» and «stand with support» decreased on average by 1.2, 1.1, 1.4, 2.3 and 9 times respectively among animals from 4 to 6 months. From 6 to 12 months didn't observe a significant deterioration of the orienting-exploratory behavior in SHR rats. Using the peptide bioregulator of vessels, it was possible to restore the number of basic behavioral acts in hypertensive animals in the «Open field» test as at the age 6 («locomotion» 1.17 times, «vertical stand» 1.75 times, «stand with support» 4 times, «grooming» by 50%) and 12 months («vertical stand» 3 times, «stand with support» 3 times, «grooming» 2.8 times). Authors assumed that the improvement of orienting-exploratory behavior of SHR rats after a course of PBV is associated with a significant increase in the density of the microvascular network, perfusion and oxygen saturation of sensory-motor tissues of the cerebral cortex. The results obtained on rodents can be interpreted on other types of domestic animals. Using PBV is quite simple and can be done at home.

Keywords: arterial hypertension, spontaneously hypertensive rats, peptide vascular bioregulator, orientation-research behavior, «Open field» test.
