Comparative efficacy of postpartum endometritis treatment methods in dogs

Summary. This article presents data from a comparative analysis of the therapeutic effectiveness of methods for treating postpartum endometritis in dogs. During the research, 20 dogs were examined with a diagnosis of postpartum endometritis and it was found that when treating postpartum endometritis in dogs, the following treatment regimen has quite good therapeutic efficacy: intramuscular administration of the drug ceftriaxone at the rate of 1 g per animal, pre-dilute the drug with a 0.5% solution of novocaine within 10 days; intravenous infusions of isotonic sodium chloride solution at the rate of 200 ml per animal once a day for 5 days; Dilute oxytocin in sodium chloride solution at the rate of 4 ml per animal weighing 25-30 kg; Tonophosphan Compositum at the rate of 0.5 ml per 10 kg of animal weight intravenously on days 1, 3 and 5 of therapy; Ascorbic acid at the rate of 50 mg per animal per day intravenous drip for 5 days and the drug Emicidin 2.5% at the rate of 5 mg per 1 kg of animal weight intravenously drip for 5 days.
