Summary. Parasitic diseases cause significant economic damage to the agro-industrial complex of the country, consisting of animal mortality and reduction of animal production. The development of effective means of protection and prevention of parasitic diseases of animals remains an urgent issue. In the modern world there is a great number of chemotherapeutic means of animal protection from parasitosis, among which preparations based on avermectins produced by actinomycete Streptomyces avermitilis are of great interest. Avermectin-containing preparations are used as antihelminthic and insectoacaricidal means of defence and have a wide therapeutic effect. The development of resistance of some parasites to avermectins remains an unsolved problem. Search for new methods of application of avermectins, overcoming resistance and preservation of therapeutic action is a promising issue for further study. The object of research is the developed prototype of antiparasitic preparation on the basis of abamectin in combination with wheat germ oil, which requires comprehensive study. The aim of the study was to investigate the harmlessness of natural avermectins in combination with wheat germ oil deponent. The experiments were carried out on laboratory models (rats). The studies showed that long-term administration of the experimental preparation based on natural avermectins in combination with wheat germ oil to laboratory models is not accompanied by clinical-physiological, ethological and haematological changes. Also repeated application of the preparation (30 days) did not cause macrostructural changes in organs and tissues of laboratory animals. Thus, the obtained data substantiated the absence of chronic toxicity after prolonged use. The new preparation based on the combination of abamectin and wheat germ oil does not cause changes in the functions of the haematopoietic system of the organism of laboratory models, does not show pro-inflammatory properties.
