Summary. The article presents the results of studies to assess the applicability of MMM as a diagnostic criterion and a marker of the effectiveness of therapy for liver dystrophy in cows. The studies were carried out on 16 dairy cows with a confirmed diagnosis of «toxic liver dystrophy». All sick cows underwent detoxification therapy. Then they were divided into two groups. In the first group (experimental) an injectable hepatoprotector filokvertin was used, the second group (control) received only symptomatic treatment. Conducted pharmacotherapy showed the restoration of the liver parenchyma in 75% of cows, while in the control normalization of liver function occurred in 25% of the group. The results of studying the level of medium mass molecules (MCM254) in the blood of animals showed that this method is applicable as a tool for diagnosing the condition of the liver. It has been determined that MCM254 values can be an additional marker of biochemical control of ongoing pharmacotherapy, since their level was associated with the results of a clinical examination, biochemical tests, and ultrasound diagnostics of the state of the liver of animals.

Keywords: cows, hepatobiliary system, toxic liver dystrophy, blood, biochemical parameters, medium mass molecules, hepatoprotectors, therapy.
