Use of modern immunomodulating and biostimulating agents for correction of hemostasis disorders and increase of nonspecific resistance in piglets

Summary. Optimal activity of hemostatic system, which is considered to be one of the most important systems of newborn piglets, has a pronounced influence on their further development and health. The hemostatic system is evolutionary closely related to the innate immune system. Newborn piglets often suffer from anemia, accompanied by dysfunction of platelets, development of hypoxia and intoxications resulted in decrease of innate immunity. That's why it is important to assess the efficiency of hemostatic correction and increase of nonspecific resistance in piglets with the help of metabolically active immunomodulators and biostimulators used in practical animal husbandry. Gamavit is used to correct anemia of various origins, reduce the effects of poisoning with ecotoxicants, mycotoxins and other toxic substances, to improve safety, stimulate growth and development (by stimulating the production of somatotropic hormone), etc. Kresacin - adaptogenic preparation, increases the content of hemoglobin in blood. Ferroglucin helps to stimulate erythropoiesis and increase the natural resistance. Authors analyzed the effect of these preparations on the hemostatic system in newborn piglets with anemia and/or severe hypoxia. The most efficiency was shown for Gamavit, which adjusts platelet function. Given that platelets are important component of innate immunity, it can be assumed that at least part of the immunostimulatory effects of Gamavit may be mediated through these cells. One of the active components of Gamavit is sodium nucleinate, an effective immunomodulator that can regulate the immune response after interacting with TLR and RIG1-like receptors. In addition, it accelerates tissue regeneration and stimulates bone marrow hematopoiesis. As Gamavit enhances average daily gain in live body weight of pigs, its use for correction of disorders of hemostasis and increase innate immunity is not only justified, but also economically advantageous.
