Summary. The results of experimental studies aimed at identifying the insecticidal efficacy of aqueous emulsions of synthetic pyrethroids (5% etofenprox) against Trichodectes canis, the causative agents of canine phthyrapterosis, in vitro are presented in the article. As the result of laboratory experiments the authors identified a fairly high insecticidal effectiveness of aqueous emulsions of the product in low concentrations. As the result of research, it was found that the least concentrated, but 100% effective against Trichodectes canis, was 0.005% aqueous emulsion. Additionally, it was found that 29 of the 127 dogs examined in the shelter were diseased with phthyrapterosis. Thus, the extent of invasion was 23%.

Keywords: dogs, hairworms, Trichodectes canis, etofenprox, synthetic pyrethroid, phthyrapterosis, emulsion concentrate, in vitro.
