In order to establish the causes of death of sheep in one of the sheep farms in Rostov region, a comprehensive diagnostic study was carried out. In the blood of sheep, a decrease in the level of hemoglobin, erythrocytes, leukocytes, protein was found - up to 4.65% (norm 7.2-8.2), sugar - up to 30 mg% (norm 45-60), alkaline reserve - up to 38 mg% (norm 45-60); increase in the content of ketone bodies up to 30 mg% (normal 2.54.0). When autopsying the corpses of dead sheep, the following pathological diagnoses were established: jaundice; hemorrhagic-necrotic splenitis - septic spleen; myocardial atrophy; alterative myocarditis; hemorrhagic diathesis -multiple pinpoint hemorrhages under the epicardium, endocardium, costal pleura, in the subcutaneous tissue and lymph nodes; toxic liver dystrophy; acute catarrhal cholecystitis; acute catarrhal gastroenterocolitis; acute serous pancreatitis; alveolar and interstitial emphysema. Microbiological examination of the pathological material revealed Clostridium perfringens types B and D, highly sensitive to ceftriaxone, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, cepoferazone, and meropenem. The totality of the results of laboratory and pathological studies corresponds to the nosological diagnosis - ketosis (ketonuria), against the background of which an acute infectious disease arose, characterized by high mortality - infectious anaerobic enterotoxemia. For therapeutic purposes, it is recommended to use serum against anaerobic dysentery in lambs and infectious enterotoxemia in sheep. 14 days after using the serum, it is necessary to vaccinate the livestock against enterotocemia. Adjust the diet with the obligatory introduction of easily digestible sugars. To treat animals, along with the use of serum, use antibiotics to which isolated Clostridium perfringens types B and D showed the highest sensitivity: ceftriaxon, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, cepopherazone, meropenem.
