Efficiency of Phosprenyl in the complex therapy for diagnosed pancreatitis in dogs was studied in the article. In total, the study included 20 dogs of different sex, age and breed groups, divided into 2 groups of 10 animals in each according to the principle of analogues. Five dogs in each group were diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and five - with chronic. The results showed that in 5 days of therapy in Phosprenyl-treated group disappearance of clinical signs of pancreatitis in dogs with chronic disease was observed as well as weakening of the disease signs in animals with the acute form of pancreatitis. Sharp decline in the level of pancreatic lipase, cholesterol, а-amylase was observed in the blood sera of diseased dogs with chronic pancreatitis after 5 days of therapy. Effect was more pronounced in the Phosprenyl-treated group. By the end of treatment (14 days) activity of transferases increased, cholesterol and triglycerides were still observed in the sera of the control animals. In contrast, these indexes were already in the normal range in the sera of Phosprenyl-treated dogs. By the 14th day the level of pancreatic lipase also dropped to normal in Phosprenyl-treated animals, but still remained high in the control group. Authors established that inclusion of Phosprenyl in the therapy of pancreatitis in dogs allows to reduce terms of recovery and prevent relapse of the disease. Keywords: dogs, phosprenyl, pancreatitis, treatment, prophylaxis, pancreatic protection, pancreatic lipase, а-amilase, liver enzymes, transferases, coprogram. References: 1.
