UDC: 619-615.038-615.036-618.6 Kireev I.V., Orobets V.A, Belyaev V.A., Denisenko T.S., Petrichenko A.A. Summary. Multi-system of antioxidant defense plays the leading role in the regulation of free radical oxidation of lipids in the adaptation, especially when the stressful situation involves fundamental changes in the oxygen regime, which determines the intensity of these processes. Results of tests of a new organoselenium preparation Mebisel in comparison with the preparation Emicidin on cows on the last month of pregnancy and during the postpartum period are presented in the article. The experiment was conducted on the basis of Novomarevsky farm of Shpakovsky district of Stavropol region. Three groups of cows in the last month of pregnancy (ten animals in each group) were used in the tests. Cows in the first group were injected with the preparation Emicidin intramuscularly once a day for five days at a dose of 40 ml per animal a month before the expected calving. Parallel to this, the cows in the second group were injected a single intramuscular dose of the preparation Mebisel (8 ml per cow). No preparation was used in the third group – animals were used as controls. Second injection of the preparation in the first and second groups was made after calving. During the experiment it was found that the use of Mebisel has a positive results on the characteristics of the antioxidant defense of the organism.
