UDC 619: 618:619.2: 615.2 ANTIMASTITIS PROGRAM EFFICIENCY USING PROBIOTICS FOR EXTERNAL USE IN HERDS WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF PRODUCTIVITY Barashkin M.I. Summary. One of the most common diseases of highly productive cows is mastitis, which causes great economic losses to the producer, as it reduces the quality of the milk, which is reflected in its value, and also there is a premature culling cows from the herd. A significant amount of antimastitis programs using a variety of disinfectants and antibiotics is developed for the prevention of mastitis in lactating cows. Author studied the efficacy of preventative programs against udder diseases in 2012-2013 in farms of Sverdlovsk area with the level of milk production from 4960 to 8725 thousand kilo. The aim of studies was to evaluate the efficacy of antimastitis programs based on the use of probiotic agents for external application on the prevalence of latent mastitis in herds with different levels of milk production. Results showed that the use of probiotic agents in the composition of mastitis’ prevention program helps to reduce the spread of latent mastitis herd, as evidenced by an increase in the number of cows having a negative reaction to the hidden mastitis in 1.7-2.7 times, while reducing the number of animals having positive reaction in 1.3-3 times. It was found that in herds with a high milk yield of cows needed more use of probiotic agents, as the results achieved longer than in herds with less productive animals. However, in recent years due to the widespread use of these means sensitivity of pathogens to them has decreased significantly and traditional events do not have the claimed effect. In this regard, one of the modern trends is the development and introduction of means based on probiotic microorganisms for both treatment and prevention of diseases.
