Summary. Deciphering of the pathogenetic aspects of endogenous intoxication as a universal syndrome complex has become one of the priority areas of scientific research in recent years. The severity of this syndrome complex acts as a criterion for the severity of the disease and determines its outcome. The issues of early diagnosis and determining the degree of its severity are relevant areas in the study of the problem of endotoxicosis, since these data will help determine the timeliness of the choice and tactics of treatment, as well as predict the outcome of the disease.

Authors compared the markers of endogenous intoxication, represented by medium mass molecules in the saliva of apparently healthy cows and cows with liver pathology. Based on clinical, biochemical and instrumental studies, two groups of cows (n=50) were formed: 1 - conditionally healthy cows: 2 -cows with the diagnosis of fatty hepatosis. Samples of unstimulated saliva were taken from animals in the morning before feeding during the rest period of the cud, where the concentration of MMM was determined at three wavelengths - Л = 238 nm (MMM 238), Л = 254 nm (MMM 254) and Л = 280 nm (MMM 280). The conducted studies showed the range of registered concentrations of MMM fractions in the saliva of apparently healthy cows and cows with liver pathology. It has been determined that the concentration of molecular markers of endogenous intoxication in the saliva of cows is dominated by the nuclear fraction - MMM 238. At hepatopathology in cattle, an increase in the concentration of all MMM fractions determined in saliva was registered, with the most pronounced increase in MMM 280. The obtained results expand the prospects for further study of cattle saliva for the purpose of early diagnosis and determination of the severity of endogenous intoxication, which will allow using the non-invasive research methods in practical veterinary medicine and clinical biochemistry in assessing physiological and pathological processes in the body of cattle.

Keywords: large horned cattle, cows, endogenous intoxication, medium mass molecules, laboratory diagnostics, saliva, liver pathology, fatty liver.
