Summary. Biochemical indices of blood of Red Book species tortoise Nikolsky (Testudo Graeca Nikolskii, 1986) gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), urea, and chlorides were studied by the authors in semi-free conditions for the first time. Four turtles of 18 (22.2%) showed almost twice above AST normal in blood serum. Results of biochemical studies suggests violation of the functional state of the liver reptiles. Chloride index is within the physiological standards – 98-107 mg / dL in the majority of the surveyed turtles. However, this index in 2 turtles (11.1%) is higher than normal by 18.8 mmol/l and 32,2 mmol/l, respectively, which reveals the signs of renal insufficiency. Index of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) above the standard between 24% to 56% In 5 of 18 of turtles (27.8%). It gives the basis to state these reptiles of liver disease and cardiovascular system. Index of GGT gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, is within the physiological norms (0-45ME/l) in all surveyed turtles. However, index exceeded 20 or more times in the study group performance in 4 turtles (22.2%). It gives the basis to conduct additional studies of the functional status of these turtles to prevent their bones or hepatic disease. Such index as urea in the blood of all examined turtles (n=18) ranged from 0.5 to 1.6 mmol/l. This variation of indice can be taken as the norm in turtles and used in the characterization of renal function.
