Double blind randomized controlled study in vivo of antitoxic effect of Gamavit and Gamavitforte against imydocarb dipropionate

Summary

Gamavit is a veterinary drug traditionally used as a detoxicant and hematopoietic stimulant during therapy of canine babesiose. Results of double blind randomized controlled study in vivo of antitoxic effect of Gamavit and its new form GamavitForte against imydocarb dipropionate commercially produced as PIRO-STOP are presented in the article. Authors found that both Gamavit and GamavitForte extend significant antitoxic effect that was more pronounced with GamavitForte. Comparing with Gamavit, the composition of the former is further strengthened with human recombinant interferon alpha, succinic acid and pyruvic acid. We conclude that GamavitForte may be used as effective detoxicant while treating canine babesiose.
