Pharmacological correction of metabolic and obstetric complications in cows by means of Selenolin and Nitamin

Summary

Cows were injected intramuscularly by Selenolin in doses of 35 mg and 70 mg per animal in combination with Nitamin in dose of 6 ml per animal. Injections were conducted in 60, 45, 30, 15 days before calving. Administration of drugs has increased the selenium content in the blood of cows. By the end of the dry period number of red blood cells has increased by 20%, white blood cells – by 32,8%, hemoglobin – by 15,4% in all experimental cows in comparison with control. Activity of the enzyme catalase has increased by 60,4%, while the content of diene conjugates has decreased. Increase of the metabolic processes in cows in the dry period reduces postnatal complications.
