Summary. Bovine piroplasmosis (piroplasmosis, francaiellosis, theileriosis) is widespread the Republic of Dagestan, causes significant economic damage to the livestock industry by reducing productivity and mortality of young animals. Diagnosis of various disease syndromes caused by parasites is based mainly on clinical signs and microscopic studies of peripheral blood smears and lymph node punctures from animals with piroplasmosis; this method is the main one in differential diagnosis. When making a diagnosis, one is guided, first of all, by external clinical signs in the early stage of the disease. Clinical signs have significant diagnostic value; most piroplasmosis in horned cattle has similar symptoms such as: fever above 40°C, lack of appetite, lymphadenitis, hemoglobinuria, edema, depression, acute course, pallor and yellowness of the mucous membranes, lacrimation and salivation. Sometimes hemoglobinuria (anaplasmosis and theileriosis) and lymphadenitis (theileriosis) are absent. Thus, when making a diagnosis of one or another bovine piroplasmosis, a practical veterinarian needs to pay attention to collecting anamnestic data. In connection with the above, we set ourselves the task of studying the clinical manifestation of piroplasmosis in the dynamics of the disease in animals. To carry out clinical differential diagnosis, three groups (10 animals of different ages in each) of the Red Steppe breed from 1 to 5 years were formed spontaneously infested with Piroplasma, Fransaiella and Theileria. Based on a study of the clinical differential diagnosis of bovine piroplasmosis in the early stages of the disease, a set of treatment and preventive measures has been developed and implemented in the republic, including mitigating prevention and specific chemotherapy.
