Summary. Historical data on establishment of laboratory practice in Kuban and first veterinary laboratories are presented in the article. Authors described in detail the stages of the development of laboratory science in Kuban, starting from the moment the station for safety anthrax vaccinations and bacteriological studies was established in 1900. Historical data on all 16 subordinate laboratory diagnostic facilities are given. Authors provided information on the laboratories' licenses for working with 2-4 groups of pathogens and accreditation for the right to conduct laboratory tests of pathological material for infectious diseases, including those that are especially dangerous and common for humans and animals, as well as the right to conduct food safety research and feed. Data on work in the state information system Vesta and advanced training of employees of veterinary laboratories are given the article.
