Summary. Results of study on epizootic situation at bovine leucosis in production herds of the Central federal district of the Russian Federation are presented in the article. Today bovine leucosis is the most widespread infectious disease in large horned cattle - 65,8% (due to 2015). Authors construct the map of spread of bovine leucose predicated on availability of the unfortunate foci. Unbalanced circulation, longtime ill-being of the herds is typical for present epizootic situation. Absence of the control measures of bovine leucose in accordance with scince-based system - «System VIEV», presence of the herds of large horned cattle with hemodiagnosis, subnormal isolation period in quarantine of the import cattle are described in the article. Nucleotide sequence of the section of the provirus pol gene of bovine leukemia virus (BLV) isolates is determined. Phylogenetic analysis shows that all investigated isolates belong to the same group as BLV isolates from Argentina, Australia, Japan, Brazil and the United States of America. Nucleotide sequence of a section of the env gene of bovine leukemia provirus isolates is also determined. Conducted phylogenetic analysis allow to assess heterogeneity of the studied population of the bovine leukemia virus (BLV). Based on results of BLV genetic diversity, three virus's genotypes - I, II, IV with dominating genotype IV - are detected. Study of BLV evolution, reflected in genetic polymorphism of the virus, is necessary for clarification of BLV taxonomy, improvement of diagnosis and detection of the source of the causative agent during export/import operations.
