Summary. As revealed by pelvic X-rays of 214 dogs, pelvic fractures have been registered in 96.5% of cases of multiple injuries. Iliac fractures have been found in 51% of the cases of pelvic multiple injuries. It has been revealed that the oblique fractures of ilium body make 80% of its all fractures. As a rule, iliac fragments are displaced and cause the narrowing of the pelvic cavity, significant pain and damages of the pelvic cavity organs and structures. The displacements of iliac bone fragment medially can cause the damage of the lumbosacral plexus nerve trunks. The method of transosseous osteosynthesis was selected for ilium restoration. 54 dogs underwent surgery. During osteosynthesis the manual or device-related reposition of fragments performed through rational lateral approach to the ilium. On the whole, the fragments and pelvis were fixed with wires attached to the outer supports as plates or half-rings from the Ilizarov fixator set. The period of fixation for pelvic bone fractures in dogs at the age below one year was 40±10 days on the average, and that in dogs above one year - 60±20 days. Dogs with unstable iliac fractures, with medial displacement of the fragment require surgical restoration. The rational approach and external transosseous osteosynthesis allow performing exact manual or device-related reposition with secure little-invasive fixation of fragments. The method of transosseous osteosynthesis allows efficient performing surgical treatment of multiple pelvic damages under using external constructs thereby providing the maintenance of functions and the organocomplex integrity.
