Xenoimplantation of bone tissue matrix by substituting of bone defects in rabbits

Summary. One of the most complex and urgent problems of modern veterinary surgery is to find possible ways to eliminate various defects that arise as a result of metabolic abnormalities in the structure of bone turnover, including filling defects formed after resection of bone tumors. Results of the study of the possibility of xenomaterials' use for replacement of bone defects are presented in the article. Bovine and equine spongy bone tissue prepared according to the original method were used as xenomaterials. Authors studied clinical and radiological signs of substitution of bone defects in rabbits. It was established that the use of xenomaterials based on cancellous bone tissue leads to bone defect substitution despite species differences. Resorption of implant material made of bovine bone tissue advanced faster than material made from equine bones. Bone matrix of equine bones underwent changes more slowly, to the 90 th day of the experiment it was well determined in the implantation zone. According to the research bone matrix derived from bovine and equine cancellous bone tissue can be recommended as an implant material for use in veterinary surgery in order to replace bone tissue defects of other types of domestic animals.
