Summary. Two methods of vaginitis treating in dogs in the veterinary clinic of the North Caucasus Zonal Research Veterinary Institute are discussed in the article. The study included dogs with the diagnosis of vaginitis. Two treatment methods have been proposed for analysis of therapeutic and economic efficiency. The first method of treatment includes the use of the antibacterial preparation Amoxicillin LA 15% intramuscularly at the dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight twice with an interval of 48 hours in combination with Betadine vaginal suppositories, which must be administered intravaginally once a day within 7 days. The second method of therapy consisted of using Cladaxa at the dose of 12.5 mg per 1 kg of animal weight 2 times a day for 5 days in combination with intravaginal administration of Hexicon twice a day for 7 days. In the course of the studies, it was established that despite the 100% therapeutic efficiency of both methods of therapy, it is more economically feasible to use the first method of treatment using Amoxicillin LA 15% and Betadine. This conclusion was reached based on the calculation of material costs, which are two times lower than the use of the Cladaxa and Hexicon.
