Summary. The purpose of these studies was to establish the optimal time and dose of fumigant insecticidal action of linalool in relation to imago of female and male houseflies Musca domestica of the laboratory population in different modes according to the method of determination. It is known that researchers to study the fumigant insecticidal effect of volatile substances, including essential oils of plants or their active components, in relation to imago houseflies Musca domestica use sealed containers 1-1.2 liters equipped with a screw cap with a 7 cm piece of cotton yarn suspended from the center of its inner side, on which are applied the studied substances with the exception of insect contact, but all the conditions of the experiment are not specified, for example, the content of insects during the experiment with or without water, with or without food. Also, the study of the fumigant insecticidal action of substances by exposure time in the study methods of different authors are given differently: 30 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours. As noted by some researchers, the duration of exposure to fumigant substances is important, and the shorter it is, the better for the practical use of formulations of new drugs based on them in the food industry or in animal husbandry in the fight against houseflies, where it is necessary to quickly improve the sanitary condition and not to disrupt the modes of technological processes. In our studies on the insecticidal fumigant effect of linalool - vegetable terpene in different modes of exposure to houseflies (with and without water), it was found that at doses of 3-100 pl/l of air, insect death reached 100% only by 4 hours of exposure. At the same exposure (4 hours) in groups with insects without water, LD50 was 11.3047 and 13.691 pl/l of air, and in groups with water 12.3984 and 26.6411 pl/l of air for males and females, respectively. When comparing all the data obtained, it was revealed that in the group of females with water, the dose of linalool LD50 does not increase when it is exposed to insects in the exposure from 4 to 24 hours. Thus, the optimal effective time of the fumigant insecticidal action of linalool against Musca domestica houseflies is 4 hours.
