Summary
Results of the ruminant sera testing are indicative of high prevalence of antibodies to viral diarrhea virus in dairy cattle (46,8% by animals and 88,8% by herds) and in meat cattle (75% and 100%, respectively). Antibodies to viral diarrhea virus were detected in 24,5% of tested samples collected from all goat herds. In camel sera testing 32,7% of samples from 46,2% of herds were positive for viral diarrhea virus. In sera from deer, elks, roes, wapitis and dzerens – antibodies to viral diarrhea virus were detected in 18,8%, 25,4%, 23,1%, 60,0% and 17,6% of samples, respectively. During an foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in cattle a four-fold increase in antibody titers to viral diarrhea agent and infectious rhinotracheitis virus was established.
