Summary. One of the most serious problems of modern times is climate change, which directly affects the agricultural sector, including livestock farming. Therefore, heat stress in productive animals is one of the most common and economically significant problems in the industry, and the development of effective drugs to combat this pathology is a current area of veterinary pharmacology. Authors standardized the quality and assessed the safety of the drug revinorm, intended for the treatment of acute heat stress in animals. The standardization of drug quality indicators was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the general pharmacopoeial articles of the State Pharmacopoeia of the Russian Federation, XIV edition. The acute toxicity of revinorm was studied on nonlinear laboratory rats using the intragastric administration at a dose of 7000 mg/kg of body weight. Chronic toxicity was assessed in three groups of rats: two experimental and one control (n=10). For three months, the animals of the experimental groups individually received the drug on an empty stomach once a day in the form of boluses in doses of 1/10 and 1/20 of the maximum administered dose in the acute experiment; control group received boluses without active substance in equal volume and in the same dosage regimen. Based on the results of the work, quality indicators were standardized for the drug revinorm. Based on toxicological studies, it was determined that according to GOST 12.1.007-76 «Harmful substances», revinorm belongs to hazard class IV (low-hazard substances), and with prolonged oral use it is harmless to warm-blooded animals.
