Abstract. The article describes an experiment to determine the harmlessness (acute toxicity) of two hepatoprotective feed additives on target aquatic organisms (sterlet and rainbow trout). The feed additives were administered to the experimental and control live objects once intragastrically using a specialized atraumatic esophageal probe in the dose ranges determined for the groups. During the studies, it was determined that the combined feed additive with hepatoprotective properties and the GlinMax feed additive do not have a toxic effect on the body of the target fish species and based on the results of toxicological experiments the studied agents were classified as hazard class 4 (GOST 12.1.007-76 ‘Harmful Substances. Classification and General Safety Requirements’). It was also found that in the groups of aquatic organisms where the feed additives were used, the body weight gain over the 14-day observation period was higher than in the control groups by an average of 7.1-18.7%.

Keywords: aquaculture, acute toxicity, sterlet, rainbow trout, liver pathologies, hepatoprotectors, feed additives.
