Summary. Presented literature data indicate the serious threat of live virusvaccines contaminated with the causative agent of viral diarrhea virus, border disease of sheep and mycoplasma to livestock of almost all countries in the world. In cows vaccinated with the indicated vaccines abortions, stillbirths and birth of unviable calves are recorded. The literature data on the facts of contamination by cytopathogenic and non-cytopathogenic biotypes of viral diarrhea virus 13 genotypes, fetal blood serum of large horned cattle used as one of the main components of the nutrient medium for cell culture cultivation is given. The results of studies on the contamination of transplantable cell culture lines by viruses such as viral diarrhea virus, parvovirus, ceneca virus, and pathogen of sheep border infection and mycoplasma are summarized. In the study of 117 cell series and 35 samples of fetal bovine serum for contamination of bovine viral diarrhea with the virus, viral diarrhea virus was detected in 25% of cell samples and in 45% of bovine fetal serum. Facts of trypsin contamination with parvovirus were established. Mycoplasma were detected in 20% of samples during the study of 69 cell cultures. Authors noted that large number of series of fetal calves' serum were contaminated by viral diarrhea virus in Russia. Authors confirmed the data that cell cultures used in the production of live antiviral vaccines should not be used for more than 20 passages, and each passage should be checked for the presence of contaminating viruses. The use of Fetal Clone (serum substitute) as a component of the growth medium for growing transplantable cell lines allows to obtain viral material with high antigenic and immunogenic activity, free from mycoplasma and virus contaminants.
Key words: pregnant cows, bovine viral diarrhea virus 1-3 genotypes, cytopathogenic and non-cytopathogenic biotypes, parvoviruses, mycoplasma, bacteria, fungi, cell cultures, blood serum, harmlessness, virus-vaccine.
