Summary

In the modern market relations dairy cattle breeding can be cost-effective and economically viable only at constant high yields of milk, minimal level of diseases of different etiologies, in particular obstetric and gynecological pathology – endometritis, metritis, and various forms of mastitis, which cause significant economic damage. Different preparations are used in therapy of cattle diseases, but antimastitic drugs produced in individual packages – syringe-tubes – mostly dominate in the cost structure.

Antimastitic drugs: iodmastagel created in the Don State Agrarian University, and sedimin produced in Moscow by A-Bio are discussed in the article. Advantages of these preparations are the universality of their antimicrobial action, low cost. Iodine and organic form of selenium are not only harmless to the body, but also enrich the milk with so deficient nutrients.

Application of the antibiotics-free preparations (iodmastagel and sedimin) can improve the profitability of dairy cattle breeding. Authors recommend these preparations for use in the treatment and possible prevention of mastitis. Taking into account the cost of the initial components iodmastagel today is economically profitable.

Key words: sedimin, iodmastagel, cows, resistance, nonspecific resistance, mammary gland, mastitis, selenium, iodine.
