Abstract. A serious economic problem for the development of dairy cattle breeding is created by infectious diseases, which can have different etiologies. In this regard, an exceptional place is occupied by diseases of the respiratory and digestive organs, which are caused by viruses of infectious rhinotracheitis, parainfluenza-3, viral diarrhea-mucosa disease and adenoviruses. One of the important stages of the fight against viral infections of cattle is timely and reliable laboratory diagnostics. The article presents the results of seromonitoring of respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases of cattle in a number of dairy complexes of the Volga Federal District (Republic of Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Chuvashia Republic, Kirov Region, Orenburg region, Republic of Mari El, Ulyanovsk Region, Penza Region and Samara Region). As a result of the study of 1 175 samples of cattle blood serum, a wide conversion of specific antibodies to the causative agents of infectious rhinotracheitis, parainfluenza-3, adenovirus, and viral diarrhea-disease of the mucous membranes of cattle was revealed. The highest percentage of positively reacting blood serums was detected in calves under 30 days of age. At the same time, the parainfluenza-3 virus was one of the most widespread etiologic agents. The obtained results should be taken into account when carrying out treatment and preventive measures in the complexes of the Volga Federal District, which will significantly reduce the incidence and mortality of young cattle from respiratory and intestinal diseases.

Keywords: infectious rhinotracheitis virus, parainfluenza-3, adenovirus, viral diarrhea-mucosal disease, respiratory and intestinal diseases, serological monitoring, hemagglutination inhibition and neutralization reactions, enzyme immunoassay, cattle, disadvantaged farms, animal husbandry.
