Summary. Leucosis occupies a leading place in the structure of bovine infectious diseases since it causes significant economic damage to livestock and poses a serious social danger. Authors carried out an epizootic analysis of the state of bovine leukemia virus infection in Krasnodar region. A decrease in the level of infection of animals with the bovine leukemia virus has been noted over ten years at livestock enterprises of the public sector, in breeding farms and in the individual sector. 373 heads of the large horned cattle or 0.7% were identified hematologically sick in the public sector in 2020. The percentage of positive animals in the immunodiffusion reaction decreases annually. So, in 2020 it was at the level of 1.5%. The percentage in breeding farms decreased to 0.38%in 2020. The situation with the recovery of cattle from leukemia in the individual sector is worse. The number of disadvantaged points in Krasnodar region at the beginning of 2021 was 47, or 10 less than at the end of 2019. However, in the absence of the systematic fight against the infection, the disease tends to further increase. Certain successes achieved in Krasnodar region in reducing the bovine leukemia virus infection were achieved through the whole range of measures: documents regulating the solution of the problem by the state and regional authorities, coordination of recreational activities by scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences and State Veterinary Department of Krasnodar region, propaganda work among the population and heads of livestock enterprises, use of modern methods of early diagnosis of bovine leukemia virus by veterinarians, development and introduction of new diagnostic platforms. The experience of decreasing the BLV infection of large horned cattle without reducing the number of livestock, according to the authors, can be recommended to other regions of the Russian Federation.
