Abstract. Piroplasmosis poses a serious threat to animal health, leading to death in severe cases. In this paper, the change in hematological parameters depending on the breed of dogs with piroplasmosis was studied. The incidence of piroplasmosis in Tyumen in the period from 2018 to 2024 averaged 1.5-6%, increasing in some seasons to 19% of the number of dogs visiting the clinic. The incidence of piroplasmosis did not depend on the sex, age, and pedigree of the dog. There was a tendency for a greater number of diseases in purebred dogs, among which piroplasmosis was statistically more common in retrievers, spaniels, and water dogs and less common in terriers. The study of blood parameters involved 130 dogs diagnosed with piroplasmosis and 100 conditionally healthy dogs. It was found that the severity of changes in the clinical blood parameters in piroplasmosis varies in the groups of purebred, mongrel, and crossbreed dogs. In mongrel dogs, anemia and inflammatory processes are more pronounced. In crossbreeds, anemia and inflammatory processes are less pronounced, and thrombocytopenia is more severe, monocytes increase statistically significantly. In purebred dogs with piroplasmosis, in addition to typical changes in clinical blood parameters, the average volume of platelets also decreases. In crossbreed dogs, the disease occurs in a milder form compared to purebred and non-pedigree dogs. The data obtained can help in diagnosis and individualizing the treatment of dogs with piroplasmosis.
