Summary. Approaches of scientists from Russia, Ukraine and near and far abroad to the production of anti-leukemia vaccines in chronological order, and their protective properties both in laboratory conditions and in the conditions of an epizootological experiment, possible ways of using these vaccines in animal husbandry in perspective are presented in the review. The development of an effective vaccine against cattle leukemia is one of the complex science-intensive and high-tech promising tasks of veterinary medicine.

Keywords: cattle breeding, large horned cattle, bovine leukemia, bovine leukemia virus, vaccines, prophylaxy, antibody titer.
