Summary
Selenolin – a new drug for injection – is worked out for prevention of diseases of selenium deficiency and also for increase of animal productivity. Calves at the age of 10-13 months were subjected to intramuscular injections of selenolin at 0,2 mg/kg of weight once in 14 days and at 0,4 mg/kg once a month (30 days). Biochemical blood indices of calves showed the increase of selenium in blood up to 0,27 mkg/ml as compared to 0,095 mkg/ml in control group, increase of red (blood) cells amount to 20,9%, general protein to 5,6 - 9,9%, increase of catalase activity to 2,2. Optimization of metabolic processes under selenolin influence the increases of animal productivity to 32,1 – 34,9%.
